The rules for using Masbate Voices

Last updated: June 23, 2026

By using Masbate Voices, you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them before posting. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

Masbate Voices is an independent, citizen-led civic wall. It is not a government complaint system and posting here does not guarantee that a problem will be acted on or resolved by any authority.

1. Who can use it

You must be old enough to give valid consent under Philippine law and must sign in with a valid Google account to post, confirm, or comment. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

2. What you may post

Masbate Voices is for documenting genuine local problems in the Province of Masbate — roads, garbage, flooding, water, electricity, public safety, health, environment, and similar concerns. Keep posts truthful, relevant, and respectful.

3. What is not allowed

  • False, fabricated, or deliberately misleading reports.
  • Defamation, libel, harassment, threats, or attacks on specific individuals.
  • Hate speech, obscene content, or incitement to violence.
  • Posting other people's private information (names, addresses, contact details, photos) without their consent.
  • Spam, advertising, scams, or repeated duplicate posts.
  • Content that is unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Attempts to break, overload, or misuse the platform.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you grant Masbate Voices a non-exclusive license to display, store, and share your content on the public wall and in aggregate analytics, for the purpose of running the platform. You are responsible for what you post and confirm that you have the right to share it.

5. Anonymous posting

You may post a report as "Anonymous Resident" to hide your name from the public. This does not hide the content of the report, and it does not exempt you from these Terms. The operator can still see which account made a post for moderation and safety purposes.

6. Moderation

To keep the wall safe and useful, administrators may — at their discretion and without prior notice — edit, hide, pin, or delete posts and comments, and suspend or ban accounts that violate these Terms. We aim to be fair, but we cannot guarantee that every decision will satisfy everyone.

7. No guarantees

The platform is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will always be available, error-free, or that reported problems will be resolved. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for damages arising from your use of the platform or from content posted by others.

8. Privacy

Your use of Masbate Voices is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms as the platform evolves. Changes take effect once posted, shown by the "last updated" date above. Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to abet.llacer@bicol-u.edu.ph.
